Woman wants $75,000 plus for alleged auto collision

Catherine Purser is suing Beverly Lafleur for more than $75,000 for an auto collision.
Purser filed her personal injury suit with the Jefferson County District Court on June 26. Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th Judicial District, has been assigned to the case.
According to the plaintiff's original petition, Purser alleges that on Nov. 2, 2006, she was the driver of a vehicle involved in an automobile accident caused by a vehicle driven by Lafleur.
"Plaintiff would show that on the aforementioned date plaintiff was the driver of a vehicle traveling west on Georgia Street when suddenly and without warning, a vehicle being driven by Lafleur failed to stop at a stop sign proximately causing the accident," the suit said. "The accident and injuries resulting there from, were not caused by or contributed to by the plaintiff, nor did the same occur through any fault or negligence on the part of the plaintiff but were solely caused by the acts, wrongs and/or omissions of the Defendant."
As a result, Purser sustained severe and disabling injuries and damages, the suit said. "This accident and the resulting injuries were brought about to occur and were proximately caused by the negligence of the defendant, Beverly Lafleur."
The suit says the defendant was negligent for failing to maintain a proper lookout, maintain proper control of the vehicle, give appropriate attention to the operation of the vehicle, control speed, make a timely application of the brakes, take evasive action, use the care of a reasonably prudent person in the operation of the vehicle, yield right of way, and In failing to stop at a stop sign.
Purser is suing for physical pain and suffering in the past and future, mental anguish in the past and future, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, disfigurement in the past and future, physical impairment in the past and future, and past and future medical expenses.
