Local business sues CA company for reneging on contract

After negotiating a contract for the purchase of an inventory tracking system, RLC Supply says Tracker Systems reneged on the deal and yanked the carpet from underneath its feet, leaving the company empty handed.

Seeking actual and consequential damages, RLC filed a breach of contract suit against Tracker Systems on May 23 in the Jefferson County District Court.

RLC is a local company while Tracker Systems is a California based business.

"Plaintiff agreed to purchase an inventory tracking system from Defendant," RLC's suit says. "However, Defendant failed to honor its commitments under the Contract. As a result of the Defendant's breach of contract, Plaintiff has sustained financial harm and has lost the benefits expected to be recovered from the Contract if Defendant had performed as promised.

"Because the Defendant has refused to honor its obligations under the Contract, the Plaintiff asks for judgment against the Defendant for damages, including, but not limited to, actual and consequential damages as may be proved at trial as well as attorney fees."

The suit says RLC is suing for less than $75,000 in damages.

The company is represented by Reaud, Morgan & Quinn attorney Chris Portner.

The case has been assigned to Judge Bob Wortham, 58th Judicial District.

Case No. A181-799
