Local and state business organizations are teaming up to give company leaders a better insight into employment laws in Texas.

The Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Association of Business will host a seminar on recent developments in employment law, immigration issues and I-9 compliance.

Speakers for this event will be Larry Simmons and Sandra Howard, both of Germer Gertz LLP and Joe Bontke of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Bontke's topic, "It's Not Only Sexual Harassment That You Have to Worry About," will address a variety of harassment issues.

The event will be held 9:30-11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Community Room located on the third floor of the Community Bank Building at 4749 Twin City Highway in Port Arthur.

Registration is $20 for TAB or chamber member, and $25 for non-members. Continental breakfast will be provided.

For more information, or to register, visit www.portarthurtexas.com, or contact Joy Rivera of TAB by e-mail at jrivera@txbiz.org, or by calling (512) 637-7715.
