A Jefferson County woman alleges her left wrist and arm were injured after she fell while performing waitress duties at The Gold Club, a Beaumont gentlemen's club.
Christy Tippett was working at The Gold Club on June 24, 2007, when one of her co-workers came into contact with her and made her fall, according to the complaint filed Feb. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.
Because of the fall, in addition to her injuries, Tippett lost earnings, experienced pain and suffering and incurred medical expenses, the suit states.
She also claims she suffered physical impairment, physical disfigurement and lost her ability to enjoy life.
The Gold Club was negligent by failing to provide Tippett with a safe place to work, by failing to coordinate the work so it would be performed in a safe manner, by failing to enforce their own safety programs, by failing to inspect the worksite to make sure it was safe and by failing to properly train its employees, according to the complaint.
The Gold Club also negligently failed to remedy the condition on the premises that caused Tippett's fall, the suit states.
Tippett is seeking a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems just.
J. Trenton Bond of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn in Beaumont will be representing the plaintiff.
The case has been assigned to Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th District Court.
