Galveston fast food employee claims sexual harassment by supervisor

GALVESTON - A woman claims she was sexually harassed on a frequent basis by her assistant manager while she worked at a Texas City fast food restaurant.

The unnamed plaintiff filed a lawsuit March 15 in Galveston County District Court against A&S Texas City Food Corporation, doing business as KFC, and the anonymous supervisor she alleges targeted her with a "campaign of sexual harassment."

According to the suit, the plaintiff was hired in March 2008 when she was 16 years old.

She alleges she had barely finished her first week of employment when the supervisor brutally groped her.

"The attacks and the assaults continued on a daily basis," the suit states. "Mr. (John) Doe touched and fondled the plaintiff and forced himself onto the plaintiff in an appropriate manner."

"The supervisor's conduct continued and even escalated in severity to the point where the plaintiff was the victim of a violent assault, battery, and an attempted rape... on A&S's premises," the suit states.

The plaintiff claims the supervisor made other female employees uncomfortable with his sexually violent behavior.

The plaintiff seeks damages including but not limited to mental anguish, physical trauma and pain, and lost wages as well as a jury trial.

She is represented by Houston attorney Todd Slobin.

Galveston County 56th District Court Judge Lonnie Cox is presiding over the case.
