Jogger files suit against driver who struck him in League City

GALVESTON - Duc Nguyen seeks to recover approximately $16,000 from Mariah Contreras after her vehicle reportedly struck him last year.
Contreras hit Nguyen on March 23, 2010, while he was jogging southbound in the 2000 block of Ohio Avenue in League City, a lawsuit filed Jan. 24 in Galveston County District Court says.
The complainant insists the alleged collision occurred "suddenly and without warning." He blames Contreras for failing to yield the right of way to him as well as not controlling her vehicle.
According to the original petition, Nguyen incurred medical expenses totaling $15,043.99 and $1,119.36 in lost wages.
He is represented by attorney Dal A. Fenton of Bellaire.
The case has been assigned to Galveston County 122nd District Court Judge John Ellisor.
