Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

One lawsuit against an insurance company over a Hurricane Ike claim was filed in Jefferson County District Court, Jan. 24-28, 2011.

The following complaint was filed:

  • Mikel and Alissa Magee of 6213 Mire in Groves allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. TWIA denied the Magees' claim after it assigned Legacy Claim Services and adjuster Brandon Brock to investigate, according to the complaint. The Magees will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E189-263.
