Woman, minor sue over rear-end collision

Individually and as next of friend of Amaya Selman, Ashley Selman has filed suit against Beaumont local Lisa Everett, who allegedly rear-ended the two plaintiffs two years ago.

The suit was filed March 21 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on April 5, 2010, the Selmans were rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Everett.

The suit does not state where the incident occurred.

However, the suit does allege Everett negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, control her rate of speed and apply her brakes in a timely manner.

The plaintiffs are suing for their alleged past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, pain, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages, plus all court costs.

Beaumont attorney Ryan Scott represents them.

Judge Gary Sanderson, 6oth District Court, is assigned to the case.
