HOUSTON - A lawsuit seeking more than $250,000 in damages has been brought against The Home Depot U.S.A. for injuries a man allegedly received when a broken table cart fell on his foot.

Alleging negligence, Brian Johnson filed the suit Feb. 23 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 20, 2024, Johnson was at a Houston Home Depot to purchase lumber. During the loading process, the heavy lumber caused the broken cart to fall onto his foot, forcefully pushing him against a metal rack and injuring him.

The suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to provide a safe and functional table cart.

Attorney Mark Sparks of The Ferguson Law Firm represents Johnson.
