$5M Jones Act suit brought Elevating Boats over lifting injury

HOUSTON - A Jones Act suit seeking more than $5 million in damages has been brought against Elevating Boats over a lifting injury. 

Ramell Williams filed his suit March 1 in Harris County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, Williams’ was performing his duties in the service of the defendant’s vessel when he picked up a piece of equipment and felt pain in his back, right knee, stomach and groin. 

Williams alleges the defendant negligently failed to provide the proper equipment.
