In the County Civil Court at Law No. 3 in Harris County, Texas, plaintiffs Marvell Tell and Marlo Harris have filed a lawsuit against defendant Efrain Gomez. The case, identified as Cause No. 638 and dated April 17, 2024, alleges negligence on the part of Gomez leading to a car accident that resulted in significant bodily injuries and damages to the plaintiffs' vehicle.

The plaintiffs, represented by their lawyers, assert that they were lawfully traveling in Houston when they were violently struck from behind by Gomez's vehicle. They claim that Gomez failed to control his speed and was following too closely, leading to the collision. The incident took place on June 16, 2023.

As a result of the accident, both Tell and Harris sustained significant bodily injuries requiring medical attention. Additionally, their vehicle also suffered considerable damage. The plaintiffs are seeking monetary relief of $250,000 or less for damages incurred.

The plaintiffs are accusing Gomez of negligence per se for violating several sections of the Texas Transportation Code. They are demanding a jury trial and are seeking compensation for medical expenses, property damage, attorney's fees and costs among other things.
