Latest Hurricane Ike-related insurance suits filed in Jefferson County

A total of eight new lawsuits against insurance companies over Hurricane Ike damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Courts, Jan. 17-21, 2011.

The following complaints were filed:

  • Alicia Cabrera of 3531 32nd St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Cabrera will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-189.

  • Efrain Ceja of 5100 Fourth St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Ceja will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E189-220.

  • Nathaniel and Karen Collins of 5160 Lakeside Drive in Port Arthur allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for foundation, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Collins will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-184.

  • Patricia Gibson of 2255 Wilson St. in Beaumont alleges National Lloyds Insurance Company denied her claim for contents, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. National Lloyds denied Gibson's claim after it assigned Compass Adjusting Services and adjuster Michael Vieregg to investigate, according to the complaint. Gibson will be represented by Amber L. Anderson and Molly K. Bowen of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by John P. Mabry Jr. of Dunnam and Dunnam in Waco. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-183.

  • Rafael Hernandez of 1014 Lee Ave. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Hernandez will be represented by Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-219.

  • Charlie and Vanessa Jackson of 9715 N. Nevada St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont will be representing them. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-213.

  • Luis and Cecilia Magallon of 12500 Mills Ave. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange denied their claim for living expenses, contents, foundation, structure, roof, water and wind damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Magallons will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston. Jefferson County District Court case number: D189-179.

  • Paige Seafood of 4195 Gladys Ave. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association minimized its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Paige Seafood will be represented by John Pat Parsons of the Lindsay Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A189-186.
