On April 15, 2024, a lawsuit was filed in the District Court of Harris County, Texas by Ramona Gonzalez against Mexican Foods, LLC and El Rancho Supermercado. The case is identified under the court case ID 2024-24213.

The plaintiff, Ramona Gonzalez, alleges that on November 23, 2022, she slipped and fell due to an unreasonably dangerous condition created by the defendants' negligence at El Rancho Supermercado located at 5264 West 34th Street in Houston, Texas. The complaint states that employees were handling and transporting frozen food products without refrigeration which caused condensation and moisture to accumulate on the floor where she fell.

Gonzalez suffered serious and lasting injuries as a result of the fall. She claims that there were no warning signs posted in the area where she fell and nothing she did or failed to do contributed to her injuries.

Gonzalez is seeking monetary relief over $250 but not more than $1 million for damages resulting from her injuries. She argues that both Mexican Foods, LLC and El Rancho Supermercado are liable for her injuries due to their negligence in maintaining safe conditions on their premises.
