In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, Maria V. Gutierrez has filed a lawsuit against William Koester. The case, with court ID 9024-253057 and filed on April 19, 2024, alleges negligence on part of Koester leading to an automobile accident that caused serious bodily harm to Gutierrez.

The plaintiff, Maria V. Gutierrez, is represented by an unnamed attorney and resides in Harris County, Texas. The defendant, William Koester, also resides in Harris County and can be served at his residence in Cypress, Texas. The incident occurred on February 21, 2024 when Gutierrez was driving her 2019 GMC Acadia and was hit by Koester's 2024 Ford Maverick at a four-way stop sign intersection in Harris County.

The impact resulted in serious injuries to Gutierrez who had to undergo extensive treatment for post-traumatic symptoms. The lawsuit claims that Koester failed to yield the right of way and ran his stop sign causing the collision.

Gutierrez is seeking unliquidated damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court for negligence and negligence per se by Koester. She alleges that he violated multiple sections of the Texas Transportation Code including failing to comply with traffic-control device, failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign, driving at a speed greater than is reasonable and reckless driving.
