James Dikeman sues Cayman Wilson for negligent shooting leading to death

James Dikeman, as the putative representative of the estate of Marissa Dikeman, has filed a lawsuit against Cayman Wilson and Kenton Speir in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The case was filed on April 19, 2024, under the court case ID 2024-25453.

The plaintiff alleges that on October 29, 2022, defendant Cayman Wilson negligently or recklessly fired a gun at Marissa Dikeman in Crosby, Texas, resulting in her death. The firearm used belonged to defendant Kenton Speir who allegedly entrusted it to Wilson despite knowing or should have known about his incompetence or recklessness with firearms.

Dikeman is seeking monetary relief over $1 million and judgment for all other relief to which he is entitled. He asserts that both defendants' conduct constituted negligence and gross negligence under Texas law. He further alleges that their actions resulted in the tragic death of Marissa Dikeman.
