Falling elevator results in suit against Holiday Inn

HOUSTON - A lawsuit seeking up to $1 million in damages is alleging a hotel elevator fell two floors, injuring the man inside. 

Alleging premises liability and negligence, Otis McKinney filed suit against Hi Hotels (Holiday Inn Express Westchase) on April 29 in Harris County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, on March 8 McKinney was in the hotel elevator when it suddenly fell two stories, causing injuries to his back, shoulders and arms. He was trapped in the elevator for two hours.
