Maria Dolores Gutierrez sues Glenda Listet Lainez for a car accident causing serious and permanent injuries

In the Harris County Civil Court at Law, plaintiff Maria Dolores Gutierrez has filed a lawsuit against defendant Glenda Listet Lainez. The case, identified as Cause No. 1226352, was lodged on April 17, 2024.

Gutierrez, represented by an unnamed counsel, alleges that Lainez caused a car accident which resulted in serious and permanent injuries to the plaintiff. According to the filing, Lainez attempted to cross Eldridge Parkway and crashed into Gutierrez's passenger side after a bus obstructed her view of oncoming traffic. The impact pushed Gutierrez's car to the left and deployed airbags.

The plaintiff is accusing Lainez of negligence and breach of duty including failure to keep a proper lookout, control speed, apply brakes timely and adequately, pay attention to surroundings and yield right of way among others. The damages suffered by Gutierrez include pain and suffering in the past and future, mental anguish in the past and future, disability and impairment in the past and future as well as disfigurement in the past and future.

Gutierrez is seeking actual damages exceeding the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court but not more than $250,000 inclusive of damages of any kind. She also seeks prejudgment interest and attorney fees.
