Centerpoint Energy Resources sues Madero Land Development for damages caused by negligent excavation

In the County Civil Court at Law No. 3 in Harris County, Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp., also known as Centerpoint Energy Texas Gas Operations, has filed a lawsuit against Madero Land Development LLC. The case, with ID 1224970, was filed on March 25, 2024.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant caused damage to their property during an excavation process that took place around August 26, 2022. The incident occurred at or near 2450 Pearland Road in Brazoria County, Texas. Madero Land Development LLC is accused of failing to notify the location center about their delayed excavation and not exercising reasonable care during the process.

Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp. claims that due to the defendant's negligence and willful misconduct, they incurred costs of $6,265.49 for repairing the damage caused by the excavation. The lawsuit seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less excluding interest, statutory or exemplary damages, penalties, attorney fees and court costs.
